Thanking God for such a beautiful day, we began at 10:00 a.m. setting everything up for the biggest even thus far this year of outreach and service to our city. Excitement and anticipartion filled the air as we expected God to show the people of this city His divine love for them through us. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time preparing for the crowds that would soon converge on our property to begin the hunt.
With a huge crowd in attendance this year, we estimate the numbers this year at 1100 to 1300. The word seems to spread throughout the city as we have held the largest Egg Hunt for the past three years with 25,000 + eggs and hundreds of prizes for the adults and the children. This year, we had many sponsors who provided us with door prizes including restaurant gift certifices, toys, candy, movie passes, and other items. We owe them a special thanks as well for making the day such a huge success.
Game booths were a big hit! Thanks to several of the men in our church, we added some new "faces" to our games boothes this year. They looked great! The face painters were awesome as well! Balloons were made available to everyone. Everyone took a piece of Hope Christian Fellowship home with them with the logos on the balloons. Sparky was, as always the "Big Man" of the day with his special appearances. This year, he had a new friend to tag along with him. the Easter Bunny himself showed up to cheer on the festivities of the day!
Each year, God seems to fine tune the Easter event to the place where it is most precious and important to just show the City of Greensboro His love through ordinary people doing an extraordinary thing. Thanks to everyone of you who supported this event whether by prayer, donation, or a willingness to serve! God is pleased with your work and it will not and does not go unnoticed by Him. Because of your selfless efforts, many people came to know a God that very simply loves them, and you were the vessel that He chose to use for His purposes!
